Saving Up.

I have withdrawn a large chunk of my paypal earnings from paid blogging the other week. I have yet to check though if it has been credited to my bank account. It says it takes about five working days for the transfer to get completed and with the holiday last week, I anticipate to have it done today. I have tried logging to my bank account online a while ago but it seems their server is down. I have to check again later.

Actually, I was supposed to postpone the withdrawal as I'm waiting for the forex values to shoot up against the dollar (so to have a higher peso exchange value). But seems, the peso has stabilized at Php 41. I know I should be glad with this status but I honestly am not since commodity inflation news has been continuously springing up. I'm not also sure if it's a good timing to invest in penny stocks these days. At any rate, I need also to replenish our savings account as we're already planning for Baby A's baptism next month.

Bed Hunting.

We're currently on the lookout for a simple yet durable steel king or queen size bed frame that we'll be using once we're settled at my folks' place in Makati. I'll be reporting back at work come May and we've decided that we'll be staying there since it's a lot nearer to our workplace in Ayala as compared here in my in-laws' place in QC. With that, we're nearer to and we get to spend more time with Baby Asher. We're still figuring out if we'll buy the bed from our favorite furniture shop here in Roosevelt since the owner does directbuy and their prices are a lot cheaper compared to that of department stores. We're just not sure though if Makati is included in their delivery areas. If not, then we don't have a choice but check out the relatively higher-priced beds at SM Makati.

Daddy's Back at Work.

Today is Paul's first day back at work after his seven days paternity leave. Exhausted from the sleepless nights brought about by my delivery and of course, with Baby Asher's home coming, I can't blame him if he doesn't feel like going back to work again. He messaged over YM this noon and said that his eyes are drooping low from sleepiness. He was called in to report earlier today for they'll have a telecon with their Chicago counterparts this morning. So that means, he may also go home earlier so long as he completes the mandated eight working hours.

He also mentioned that he needs to update status on several company records: tax records (enrollment of a dependent for tax exemption), SSS, individual health insurance, and some other records. I better also start preparing these documents as well since for sure, I'd also be updating mine when I get back to work.

Recuperating.

It's been ten days since I gave birth. Yesterday was my after-delivery check-up and according to my doctor, I am doing fine and my wound is on its process to complete healing. Thank God! It's really been tough and uncomfortable these past few days. I am having a hard time taking care and fulfilling mommy duties to Baby Asher as I can't freely move. Nevertheless, except for the constipation thing, I'm doing better. I opened the idea of taking up a colon cleanser but my OB instructed me to shy away from unnecessary drugs and medications for a while since I am breastfeeding. Oh well, probably this is just a psychological thing also because of the wound down there.

Goodbye Monique.

..and there were only two dogs left in the house. The little puppy, owned by our five year old nephew, is gone. No she's not dead but she was forced to be transferred to my sister-in-law's other house. It could have been nice to have her in the house, she's so cute and cuddly, but then her doggie attitude is not so pleasing. Although, it's natural for puppies to be playful but she was different. She has destroyed so many things and furniture in the house...from slippers to shoes to cabinet knobs to sofa rollers to everything that she could get hold of. Oh well, poor Monique..but she has to go.

Someday.

Even before our wedding, Paul and I have set our goal to buy or rent a place of our own in three to five years time. We haven't concretely acted on it yet but we occassionally check out some offers that come our way, mostly referrals that are forwarded by friends. We can't help but gasped everytime we come to know of the price. Although there are several payment schemes and options offered by mortgage lenders, I don't think we can realize this in the near future. Probably it will take us several more years of hard work and wait for a decade worth of pay days for us just to buy a property especially in our preferred city. (Or probably, I have to try my luck in the lottery if we want to have it within the year, lolz). Well, hubby and I are just starting a family so we're in no hurry. We know that somehow and someday, we'll manage to have a place that we can call our own.

Waiting for Baby A.

Sadly, our dear Baby Asher is still in the hospital finishing his antibiotics medication. He had a high WBC count when he came out prompting his doctor to give him meds to address his infection. We're hoping that he can go home real soon. I'm missing my baby and it breaks my heart to leave him everyday in the nursery. Everybody in the house would like to see him already. Everyone is really excited. In fact, not only his room was readied. The whole house underwent general cleaning and some parts were even renovated just like the kitchen and living room. This is in anticipation also for the guests that will be seeing Baby A. The plumbing fixtures were fixed and the kitchen was tiled. Linens and draperies in the living room were also changed. The whole house is actually ready for Baby A's home coming. Hope he can already be permitted to go home soon.

Still No Baby A Yet.

We just got home from the hospital. Baby A, almost on its 39th week, is clinging still so dearly inside my tummy. Cervix dilation and effacement hasn't progressed yet so there goes another week of waiting.

At any rate, I'd just keep myself busy with doing online assignments, blogging, and digiscrapping. By the way, my mojos have returned so check out my latest layout here. I'm planning to scrap all my preggy moments while waiting for Baby A, then have it printed with a photobook.

Fridays Feast: 181

This is one day late, I know. Here's my take for this weekend's feast:

Happy feasting everyone!

Appetizer
Who was the last person you hugged?
My Hubby before he went to work this morning.

Soup
Share a beauty or grooming trick or tip with us.
I’m not really a ‘kikay’ person and so I don’t have much tips to share. I believe in the wonders though that moisturizers do to my skin. It keeps my skin from drying.

Salad
What does the color yellow make you think of?
Reminds me of our wedding motif…powder blue and canary yellow.

Main Course
If you were to make your living as a photographer, what subject would your pictures revolve around?
I would love to take pictures of babies and nature.

Dessert
What was the longest book you ever read?
I’m just not sure but probably it’s The Wuthering Heights which I was “forced” to read and do a book report (Junior Year in HS).

Fashion Studies Dream.

As I was finishing a digiscrap layout last night, a YM message window suddenly popped from a dear US-based friend. She informed me that she’s flying to New York next month. I right away knew what would be her purpose there. She’s been contemplating recently whether to pursue her long-time career plan of studying fashion. I’m glad she has finally decided to enroll in a fashion school in new york.

Well, for one, New York is certainly the best choice. She considered LA, Chicago, Miami centers but I’d say that fashion schools new york are the best options to take. New York is the most happening fashion destination in the world. As they even put it, fashion in New York isn’t just an industry but it’s a way of life. No wonder, they have the biggest names in the fashion world: Marc Jacobs (who graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York), Donna Karan (also a Parsons School alumnae), Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Perry Ellis.

Right now, my friend hasn’t decided yet which school will she enroll in as there are certainly a lot of choices to choose from. I told her to check out this site where the best new york fashion schools are featured. I wish her all the best and hope she’ll do good so that someday, she’ll have her own name lined up with the biggest names in the fashion world.
