Topamax Lawsuit

I was about to go offline a few minutes ago when I stumbled upon an interesting news about a Topamax lawsuit filed just recently.  My attention was caught because it’s a case filed by a mom who has just given birth to a baby with a birth defect and was said to be caused by a prescribed medication she took for migraine while pregnant.  The manufacturer failed to include the side effects on its label that it may cause to fetuses – birth defects like cleft palate or cleft lip.  The personal injury lawyers are now taking charge of the lawsuit filed and they are positive that they will be able to claim the liability damages they are demanding.

Palabok Craving

I think it’s official..my second baby’s ultimate craving is pansit palabok (seasoned with calamansi and topped with plenty of sliced eggs).  I’ve had enough servings of this these past few days and weeks and at this very hour, I’m very much yearning to have a taste of this yummy delight.  Too bad, the husband’s now sleeping (and snoring) I can’t “command” him to get or buy me one.  Lucky him.

PDA

Last weekend, we had an impromptu swimming getaway in a nearby resort.  The little one had a blast swimming in the pool and he was unstoppable.  He refused to get out of the water.  While he and his Dad was having a fun time in the pool, I just enjoyed having a food trip while watching them from our cottage.  I also entertained myself looking at a group of young teenagers with their corresponding sweethearts snuggling and kissing all at the same time.  Kissing…not just a peck on the cheek but about ten seconds long lip-locked type of a kiss.  Geez, I bet their parents do not know what they were engaging to that time.  They’re all very young (HS looking guys and gals) and it’s really disturbing to see them being so that affectionate in public.

A Mom’s Worry

I remember that I literally cried the moment I saw blood in my undies while I was 6 months pregnant with Asher. I was really worried and thought that I’d lose him. I was confined in the hospital due to threatened abortion and thank God we both recovered well and I delivered him at the right time perfectly healthy and normal a few months later. It was a nerve-wracking experience actually so I can also understand a mom’s worry learning that the Topamax she was prescribed could lead to dangerous side effect to her baby. The manufacturers are now facing multitude of Topamax lawsuit for their “off label” promotions and for failing to disclose the side effects of the drugs to pregnant women.

So Into Sports

It seems that Asher will be a sports-minded kid just like his Daddy who grew up playing and hooked into many sports.  He loves playing basketball, boxing (yes, he knows and imitates Manny Pacquiao’s moves), soccer, golf and now, badminton.  He has this toy racket that we bought from the talipapa that he would love to play with every afternoon.  It comes with a shuttlecock and 2 ping pong balls.  If we only have a ping pong table, I bet he’d love to learn table tennis, too.  Well, being hooked into sports is actually good.  Next summer, we’ll definitely enroll him in a sports clinic.
