Out of Office.

It’s Thursday morning and while I’m supposed to be at the office at this moment, here I am in front of the puter, surfing, while munching some mangga with bagoong. Okay, reason why I’m lazying around at home? Blame it to the whacking headache that woke me up this morning. Mabigat ang pakiramdam. tinatamad…I felt a bit of urge to throw up. Hmmm…this must be it. Some additional preggy symptoms kicking in.

I texted my bosses that I can not come in this morning and IF I feel and get better, I will try to report for work this noon. Hmm, I feel better na ngayon BUT…I’m still feeling sluggish which means I might will have the whole day today to bum around. Hehe!

Green Machine.

Just last weekend, we had Green Machine “repaired” as the aircon fan suddenly stopped functioning while driving home to Frisco. It’s a good thing that we’re near home when it happened, otherwise, we might have been stuck somewhere with an overheating, conked out car. As the mechanic evaluates the machine, it turned out that there’s really nothing to worry about as the aircon fan was just loosely unplugged.

But it seems Green Machine is really requiring us to shell out some money for a repair. This time, the car’s machine is producing a strange, disturbing sound as it accelerates. The mechanic suspects something’s wrong with the bearing of some part. I just don’t know the exact details but what I heard from hubby is that the entire machine needs to be dismantled to further check out that specific bearing. I am not sure also if they need some plasma cutting services. I just hope, Green Machine gets repaired with not much cost to burden us.

Giddily Excited!

Wow I’m just so glad that it’s Friday once again…my favorite day of the week. Hehe! I already have plans cooked up for tomorrow and I’m so going gaga and going giddily excited! I can’t tell yet the details but I will definitely get back to share our “experiences” and the big news here tomorrow. Yipee! I won’t be giving any clue basta…I’m so overly stoked!

Random Blabs.

* It’s just now that I posted my entry last night. I didn’t notice that I wasn’t able to publish my post as I shut the notebook down. Wehehe..reason? There was a commotion outside last night that I got so antsy and hurriedly went out to know what it was all about. The electric post near our front yard was on fire! Actually, it’s not naman the whole post but the wires connected to the transformers. I don’t know how the ignition started but according to my engineer husband, the transformer might’ve a leak or something. It wasn’t that big but the fire spread hastily. Anyway, the firefighters arrived immediately naman and they were able to contain the fire with just a sprinkle of their high-pressured water host to my neighbors delight. Haha! Parang pelikula..they were clapping and rejoicing as if they were saved by a Super Hero. Lolz.

* On another note, dear hubby is feeling better. We rushed to Makati Med’s ER the other night as he complained of some excruciating tummy pains on his left for two consecutive days. His urinalysis yielded normal results so the doctor concluded that it was just probably a strained muscle. Yan kasi laki-laki ng tiyan. Haha!

* I’m feeling so cranky and so lazy these days. I blame this to my surging hormones and to my anticipated “visitor” this week.

* By the way, I’m a few bucks richer today. Finally, I got my first dollar check courtesy of those links on my blog’s right sidebar. Woohoo! Clearing days would take about 25 days nga lang as it’s a Non-NY check. Pero oks na...thanks so much Adbrite!

Midweek.

Glad, it’s midweek already. That means I’m half through with all the stress that this week has stored for me. I can’t wait till weekend. For one, I’d love to sleep, sleep and sleep. Lolz. I feel so sleepy these days eventhough I have enough at night. Probably, I’m just so tired at work, or just PMS-ing..or simply just the sleepyhead-in-me whacking big time.

Another thing I’m looking forward to this weekend is the opening of the UAAP season this coming Saturday. So we’ll go cheering once again for our dear Alma Mater’s UST Tigers. Woohoo! Hope they’ll grab the crown again just like how they surprisingly did last year.

Today, I...

• Woke up late…4 hours later than my usual
• Had a very sumptuous sinigang for lunch cooked by my hubby’s grandma
• Surfed and blogged while I watched noontime shows
• Had a siesta (power nap)
• Ate a bowl-filled of siomai, coke and rice for merienda with hubby (whhattt? Rice for merienda?!?!?!? Now you know where our bulging tummies come from)
• Managed to accomplish 5 paid posts and still looking for some more opps
• Was mesmerized with the story of a domestic helper in New York featured at Nagmamahal, Kapamilya.
• Was supposed to do some paperworks that I took home from the office but procrastinated again. I still have Sunday to do it anyway.
• Am enjoying the not-so-hot weather..and oh, it’s raining tonight.

I just love Saturdays because of these things!

Random Blabs Again.

It’s almost midnight and I’m tired..I’m sleepy..I’m weary. My Tuesday was pretty strenuous, actually, my life as a “corporate slave” has always been like that. Nothing’s new. I extended work until 9:30 tonight then tomorrow, will have to stay until 10 pm again for our Peoplesoft Training. We’re all sooooo busy these days really. I just hope everything will work out fine once this new financial system gets implemented soon. I’m so worn out of these trainings and pressure, on top of the heaps of our daily workload. Arggh!

Yikes, I can’t think straight as I’m trying to finish this quick post. There are lots of stories up in my mind right now but I can’t organize my thoughts so perhaps, I’ll just randomly jot it down:

• It’s kinda late but I sneaked in to do some dollar opps, as well as blog hop to my fave blogger friends’ sites (and left them some love).
• Again, I can’t help but be thrilled with my improving Alexa Ranking. From last week’s 2,008,243 to current ranking of 1,636,219….konti na lang, below 1M mark na ako woohoo! Keep those visits and “linkings” coming please.
• I noticed that several of my blogger friends are into paid blogging na rin. Good luck peeps…wishing for more opps coming our way.
• I just watched PBB and I hated Wendy’s non-stop blabbering and contradicting, immature reasoning. I hope she’s one of those who’ll get evicted soon. It’s just so bad of her to wish for her father’s death. Ano bah! My parents separated when I was still a kid but I’ve never wished anything ill towards them. I still remain grateful to them no matter how hard the circumstances were living in a broken family.

Okay so much for that. I need to sleep already and have to replenish the energy I’d be needing for another exhausting Wednesday tomorrow. Nyt!

I Hate It.

I am not in my best spirits today.

I was supposed to do some $ opps and buzz the good things (and the not so good) that happened to me this week. Yes, included my short trip to Makati Med’s ER last Thursday where I got an anti-tethanus shot but there are a lot of disturbing issues boggling my mind right now that I can’t even think straight. I tried tweaking my blog layout to divert my attention but my mojos are somewhere and the creative side of my mind is absolutely blank.

I am so wretchedly uncomfortable.

Arggh! And I hate this feeling. I hate it even more that I’m keeping all these by myself. I hate it when I’m sulking like this.

I hate it when there’s nothing I can do but just puff my eyes out from crying.

Hello.

Hello Philippines and hello world..hmm just borrowing the intro tagline of Pinoy Big’s Brother Toni Gonzaga. Oh well, I can’t believe that I missed blogging and hardly accessed my blog for 4 straight days. I’m not going to list down lame excuses anymore but I do apologize to my blog for the delinquency. I know it might have probably got used to the weekday absence I’ve been doing but what can I say..that’s how my life has been since I started assuming a full-time work. Even hubby is complaining and I even got my own dose of castigations from him due to my so-called “exaggerated OTs”. Arggh I hate it. I need to be lectured again with the Work-Life-Balance Rule.

Anyway, I will truly make the most out of this weekend. I noticed that there are a lot of changes in PPP and I need to be updated on that. I need to earn more moolah…yup, I already have plans what to do with the rest of my PPP $$$ earnings come December. Hmmm am I hearing HK Disneyland Theme here?

A Late Rambling.

Another week has passed and I’m just so glad that I have this weekend to breathe and loosen up a bit. I know I haven’t posted our Subic getaway last weekend, the birthday bash of my hubby, and my thoughts on the election mania. Whew! I just wish I get the time and energy to religiously update my blog and recount the events as they happen. Sadly, some things just interfere with my blogging life. :sigh:

===Subic Getaway===
May 12 (Saturday) – Paul and I together with my in-laws and Paul’s siblings drove to Subic for an overnight relaxation away from the city. This summer getaway was planned for a triple celebration: Paul’s birthday on the 14th, Mothers Day celeb on the 13th and mom-in-law’s birthday on the 16th. We hit the road at about 7 am. By past 8 am, we were already at Bacolor, Pampanga to fetch and convoyed with my sis-in-law’s family. If not with the slow-moving caravans of election candidates doing their last round campaigns on the highway, we could have arrived in Subic earlier. We reached Sheavens Beach View Hotel in Baretto, Olongapo by 10:30 am. Since they’re still arranging the rooms and check in time is not until 12 noon, we just hang around the tropical garden and lounged and took some photos by the waters of Subic Bay.

After a while, we then settled in our rooms and since we were all salivating for lunch, we hurriedly scoured the main road of Gapo for a nice and cheap diner. Well knowing Gapo, obviously, pubs and beer gardens mostly lined up the main road. Luckily, there’s a resto just a few blocks away from the hotel and there we stuffed ourselves (although, food was not that great). Back in the hotel, I brought out my laptop and luckily, a wireless connection was detected however it was so intermittent and slow that I fell asleep while waiting for the page to load. Lolz.

We walked to nearby Baloy Beach later in the afternoon for a swim. Look how Paul’s nephew, Miggy, enjoyed.

Later that evening, we headed back to the hotel, freshened up and got ready for dinner. Again, hunting for a good resto was a challenge. Subic’s beach and hotels sprawled near the shoreline of Baloy are really appealing and nice but how I wish they’ll also put up cheap and nice restos to dine in. At any rate, we wre able to find in the outskirts of the highway a so-so grillery and there we ate.

We went back to the hotel, stayed up late watching TV and DVDs on the laptop, then retired the night. The next morning, we had a Jollibee breakfast, went for a morning swim in the beach except for me who was slacking of changing into my swimwear. Later, we checked out and drove back to Manila with the unforgiving and sweltering heat.

===Paul’s Surprise Birthday Bash===
May 13 - Paul knew that we’d be dining at Dampa in Seaside along Macapagal Blvd. that night. What he didn’t know is that I schemed and invited our High School Barkada whom we haven’t seen for months to join his birthday bash. There was the engaged couple, Leia & Genil, sweethearts JR and Tere and Paul’s bestfriend, Jordan. We feasted on Spicy Sauced Crabs, Baked Talaba, Liempo, Buttered Shrimps, Sigang na Miso, and Ensaladang Mangga at Kainan sa Balanghay. We chatted while we busily unshelled the appetizing shrimps and crabs.

===Election Mania===
May 14 – Paul’s birthday and the Election Day. Well, I wasn’t a responsible citizen that day because I didn’t vote. One, I wasn’t able to renew my registration with my married name. Two, we were in my in-laws’ house in Frisco that day and we won’t be in Makati where I am registered, until late evening. Three, I don’t see any candidate who deserves my vote and my trust anymore. :sigh:

To All Moms Out There...

Hope you enjoy this special day as you are honored and gratified for all the sacrifices and hard work you do for the family.

To my Mom, my stepmom and to my mom-in-law..thank you for the motherly love you've been giving me.

**********************

I’ll just keep this short and I have to post this right away before the intermittent wi-fi connection in this hotel totally pisses me off. We’re in Subic right now with my in-laws and the whole family celebrating Mom’s Day, Paul’s and MIL’s birthday on the 14th and 16th respectively. We’re heading back to Manila in a few hours. :sigh: Kwento and stories to follow.

See yah later or probably tomorrow since we’ll be having a surprise gimik tonight for my dear hubby. Ssshhhh. *wink wink*

Just To Let You Know...

...that I am still alive
...that I am just caught up with a lot of things, particularly at work (as usual)
...and that I will definitely be back soon with some updates.

Arggh! Can we stop time for a while for me to breath?

Long Day Friday.

Yesterday was a bit long day for me. I was up as early as 5:00 am to attend the NHO Training at 6:00 AM in Insular. Even though I’ve been with the company for 6 months already as a project employee, I am required to undergo this new hires’ orientation since it’s only now that I’m directly hired by the company technically. My co-trainees were all agents for an account to be based in our Alabang site. Basically, it was just an orientation about the company which a new hire must learn about. There were several video and powerpoint presentations, icebreakers and group activities as well. It was a bit boring probably because I’m quite familiar already with the information that was presented. The freezing cold temperature of the training room didn’t help either to keep me awake. The orientation ended early to my delight. I was supposed to do an errand to claim my brother’s educational plan check in QC but I couldn’t bear the scorching heat so I headed to our office. I suddenly remembered that I need to send my OT report prior the cutoff this Saturday to HR that is for crediting this coming payroll period, otherwise, it’ll be reflected late. So I opened my email and voila, the emails I received made me stay until 6 pm unconsciously. If Paul didn’t buzz me, I might have stayed late again and might have “castigated” again by my dear hubby for rendering too much late OTs lately. So with that in mind, I packed up and went home.

An Owl Blogger.

It’s already 3 AM and I’m still freaking awake??? Well, I’m just seizing the moment. Tomorrow..oooppps, TODAY is a non-working holiday so I get to have the whole day to rest anyway. Besides, Paul is still enjoying their night swimming spree at the moment and he’ll be home in a while. Probably, I will just wait for him before dozing off. I was supposed to join their group’s outing but apparently, work didn’t permit me to do so. I finished a pile of paper works until midnight before heading home. I needed to do that or else, I might get drowned already with my tasks come Wednesday.

Wanna Swim.

We’re supposed to go swimming yesterday as per Paul’s request. He was so inching to have a dip in the pool because of the scorching heat and for the reason that he hasn’t swam yet this summer. Then my college best buds messaged me last Friday if we can join their Tagaytay weekend gimik. Until late evening of Friday, we couldn’t decide. I clocked out late in the office, ate our KFC dinner late and we endured about an hour-long drive from makati to qc. We were dead tired and exhausted upon reaching home. Obviously, since no definite plans were made, hubby and I woke up late yesterday and found ourselves bored the whole day. It’s a good thing that somehow we have this computer shop to man and got ourselves a bit busy with. And of course, I have this blog to work on for some dollar opportunities. It was not bad, after all.

Anyway, since I would also love to go wading, I will just repost this photo montage I made before. Here are the pics of some of our swimming getaways in Boracay and Laiya, San Juan, Batangas.

Bye-bye Desktop.

The desktop at home (Makati) has been conking for months already. Paul has exhausted all means testing what could’ve the culprit been for its frenziedly auto-shut downs while in the midst of surfing or gaming. We even bought a new power supply and a brand new memory but to no avail, the problem was not resolved. Since Paul has 10 PC’s in the shop, he also even tried mixing-and-matching the parts like memories and video cards. He also tried and made use of the Windows Service Packs to repair and reformatted for several times but perhaps, the PC is “terminally-ill” and wishing to retire soon. After all, we’ve been using this for years already and I recall that my Feasibility (thesis) is still stored here so that makes it running for more than four years already!

So that’s it, we don’t have an option but replace it with a new set. We need to have this up soon since my stepmom will also be coming home next weekend from Saudi and being the chat addict that she is, I’m sure she’ll be frantic if we won’t be able to resolve this. Besides, my little bro has been nagging that this have to must be repaired/replaced for him to play and satisfy his obsession with DOTA.

At one point, this makes me feel blessed since I have this notebook to fulfill my blogging and digiscrapping pursuits. Hehe! But at any rate, for them to stop irking, we’ll be buying a complete set from Rsun on Tuesday. We figured buying this set (excluding monitor) will be cheaper than having the parts bought individually.

TGIF!

What a strenuous week! So plenty of tasks but got so little time.

But what the heck..thank goodness it’s Friday! Weekend’s here and it spells:

r-e-l-a-x-a-t-i-o-n

...and I’ll definitely make the most out of it.

Small Blessings.

More often than not, most of us are caught up pressured amidst life’s hustle and bustle. In reality, there comes a point when we are so engulfed with our wishes and desires that we tend to disregard and overlook what we have. There are times when we tend to take for granted and lose track the blessings that come our way. Regardless of our situation, we always have to be thankful no matter how little the blessings seem to be.

For today, these are the little things that I’m thankful for:

1. For the palatable adobo I had for lunch at our pantry. My colleagues and I very seldom dine and eat our concessionaire’s food in our pantry. I’ve been disappointed with their seemingly half-cooked and recycled cuisines. Since Joy is in scrimping mode and we were so lazy to dine out, we settled at the pantry today and luckily, I was not disappointed. At least, I also got to save a bit as my lunch only cost me Php 45.

2. Finally, my new email at work is now configured and up. I will no longer use my yahoo mail at work which has been quite “effortful” still, even with the Yahoo Mail Beta.

3. For the 30-minute-trafficless-safe drive from Makati to my in-laws’ abode in Frisco. Today is Thursday and weekend is nearing so that means, we have to be here and I'm just glad that the drive was comfortable and fast.

4. Miggy, Paul’s 4-yr old nephew, made mano to me when we got home. Usually and especially if he’s glued to the TV, we’re often unnoticed and ignored when we arrive. Tonight, he was in a good mood and even played with us for a while.

5. For the polite Citibank Customer Service Rep I talked with tonight when I clarified Paul’s billing statement. Paul is being charged with a late penalty fee of Php 300 for not paying the unpaid balance of Php 2.81 last month. The CSR was flexible and helpful naman unlike the other one whom Paul talked with this afternoon. She was a bit rude daw and was stiff in asking to pay the penalty charge.

6. For the little tiramisu that was left on the fridge. My voracious bro was kind enough to leave me some for dessert.

Small blessings…. I am thankful today for all these small blessings.

Back Again.

I finally reported for duty today after four days of sickly break. As soon as I stepped near my workstation, I almost retreated and backed out from working again. There were heaps and piles of invoices and AP vouchers waiting for me on top of my desk. But reality sank so I relaxingly started my routines. One at a time. Keeping “stress” aside. Of course, I do remember and must live by my doctor’s reminder: MANAGE STRESS APPROPRIATELY. And that’s what I did on my first day back at work. I did extend a bit but hubby and I nevertheless, went home early.

..And I Was Knocked-Out.

I blogged last weekend how Manny Pacquiao finished a bout with a TKO.

Ironically, I experienced my own dose of TKO these past few days. Thus, I was MIA (missing in action) this week. It all started with some abdominal pain and found out that my UTI has recurred again for the nth time. I had my daily check-ups and series of tests at Patient First last Monday to Wednesday. They had me undergo Ultrasound and thank God my kidneys, gall bladder and all those organs are just normal. The urinalysis results yielded the answer that I indeed have a bad case of UTI causing the abdominal pain.

I know I’m also partly to be blamed here. I’ve worked and abused my body these past weeks by working long and late OTs at work. My body has definitely taken its toll on me. I developed fever on Wednesday night and continued until I woke up on Thursday morning. I texted my bosses that I won’t be able to report for work for me to rest the whole day.

Friday morning, I woke up without a fever anymore but still felt weak and sluggish so I decided to extend my sick leave. A few hours later, my agony started again as I just puked whatever I drank or ate. I experienced terrible headaches whenever I lie down or just sit. I felt so weak and unable to move.

Worrying of dehydration and some other things, hubby and I rushed to Makati Medical Center last night. After enduring a couple of needle pricks for some meds injection and blood collection and after undergoing urinalysis routine, the doctor informed me that I was having gastritis due to the antibiotics I’m taking in for my UTI. Gastritis is an irritation of the stomach often caused by medications, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, spicy or acidic food, skipping of meals and emotional stress. He gave me several meds to counteract hyperacidity as well as neutralize the antibiotics to prevent myself from vomiting. Further, I was reminded to avoid soft drinks, alcohol, acidic fruit juices, spicy foods, chocolates, coffee, tea, milk, and milk products; not to skip meals; and manage stress appropriately. With that, I guess I have to strictly watch my diet in the next few days and of course, do away with working late at work for the mean time.

I’m feeling better today and hopefully, this will already lead to a full and even faster recovery.
