The Lesson

I never learned my lesson. About effectively handling time, that is.

I procrastinate..always. And so it's not an uncommon sight to see me cramming come crunch time.

It's a good thing that there's the Holiday season that I can "blame" for this slacking attitude for now...to which I can comfortably and easily attribute my laziness to. But seriously, I know that this has to stop especially that another year is about to begin. So as my first attempt for this resolution, I'll really start reviewing the discount term life insurance proposals forwarded to me a few weeks back. I just wish that I can sustain enough this drive and energy before the crazy lazy bug bites me again.

Christmas Wish

It's just 3 days before Christmas. While many may be finished with their Christmas gifts shopping, a few lucky sons and daughters of affluent and the millionaires may still be humbly waiting for their parents to give them their grand and ultimate 2010 ford fusion or 2010 mercedes benz glk wish. How blessed and lucky these sons and daughters are. I bet they've bookmarked the url of TheCarConnection.com and endlessly browsing/reading reviews and raves about their dream cars. They could have also memorized the specs, the pricing, various images of other cars and the mitsubishi eclipse pics from the site. This site is truly helpful to the car enthusiasts and buyers out there as they are able to read comprehensive reviews and testimonials from satisfied buyers before they could purchase and close the deal. The ratings provided help them decide if a particular model they are eyeing is among the top well sought cars. The styling, the performance, comfort and quality, safety and complete features tabs guides a buyer if that suits his preferences and requirements. So for those of you who thinks you have the charm that your parents can not resist, go ahead and start choosing from the wide array of your dream automobile at TheCarConnection.com.

Our Fourth.

Hubby and I celebrated our 4th year wedding anniversary last Thursday. I am yet to blog our simple celebration. Nope we didn't celebrate it with a Cancun All Inclusive although I wish we could. Our savings are allocated for our little mansion project so luxuries like travel plans are really taking the backseat for the mean time. Hopefully, when we get settled by mid next year and we can breathe a little easier, we can then start saving up for an international getaway. We have always been dreaming and wanting to experience Karisma Hotels in Riviera Maya for the longest time. Aside from the marvelous beaches, relaxing and pampering hotel indulgence, their one of a kind gourmet-inclusive concept is to die for.

Christmas Family Traditions.

I think everyone has his own share of stories about Christmas traditions that they have grown up with. Three of the things that I always looked forward to as a child come Christmas time are hanging of stockings on the eve of Christmas, exchange gifts and our sumptuous Noche Buena that the whole family feast on after attending the Misa de Gallo (Christmas Mass). Now that I have a family of my own, I wish to continue these traditions and will also have my son grow up happily and excitedly look forward to Christmas because of these.

How about you, what are your favorite Christmas family traditions?

Online Procurement

When I was still working for an American call center a couple of years ago, among my tasks were to source, canvass and procure stuffs that the Operations Group requires. I remember ordering stuffs that served as their prizes and incentives: gadgets, appliances, hotel accommodation, tokens, giveaways and a lot more. The procurement manner was kinda old-fashioned then but before I resigned there were already plans to shift to some kind of more advanced procurement way. That is to give online purchasing a try. I think that's the system they're currently taking advantage of now. My former colleague says its a whole lot easier and faster because its paperless and all it takes is just a click of the mouse. For example, they have already tried dealing with Jazz Medical, an online medical supplies retailer, they were able to procure some clinical supplies without much hassle. They also got a good deal because the prices are relatively cheaper compared to their previous supplier.

Thank You Skinny Body

Countdown check..17 days to go before Christmas.

Have you planned your Noche Buena meals and stocked the best diet pills yet? We'll it's expected that a lot will really forego for the mean time their diet plans and regimens with all the bountiful feasting to take place this Holiday season. As early as now, my mind and my taste buds are already conditioned to taste and savor my favorite holiday feasts: carbonara, roasted chicken, salads, and a whole lot more. I don't mean to brag or to get you envious but that's what I thank my metabolism for. I can eat a lot without having to worry about the extra pounds of weight to gain because I've always been skinny.

No International Travel Plans

While most of my friends are so excited about their travel plans this Holiday, here I am having a hard time budgeting our year end savings and closely limiting the expenses we'll be incurring in the remaining days of the month. I surely do want to travel abroad, or go to Bohol, Palawan or Boracay; or try out the Outer Banks vacation homes but we're dead set on prioritizing our housing goal so travel plans will have to wait until the next couple of years I suppose. We'll be having a much cheaper Baguio getaway anyway after Christmas so that will do for now. What matters most is we'll all be together and make the most out of our trip.

Anniversary Gift

The 17th of this month marks our 4th year wedding anniversary. Wow! I'm taken aback that it has been four years already since we said "I Do". Well, I'll be blogging more about these thoughts on the anniversary day itself but for now, I'll spend the next hour browsing and contemplating about my gift for him. We agreed that we won't splurge too much on our Holiday and Anniversary gifts like we did last year because of the impending little mansion project. So it's definite that there will be no Personalized Jewelry nor expensive gadgets for this year. He has mentioned in passing the other day that his fave perfume is running out so more probably, that's what I'll look for in a while.

Ray Ban Aviator Sunglasses

Browsing various fashion and entertainment blogs, I noticed that the Ray Ban Aviator Sunglasses are the most worn style among many stars here and abroad. Also known as Pilot shades (style derived from the oblique teardrop shape of the army's smoked-lens flying goggles), it's the most copied fashion style in history. It became even more popular when famous icons like Michael Jackson and Tom Cruise began wearing them.

If you don't have any idea where to score great Ray Ban Aviator deals, hop on over to Zephyr Sunglasses and browse their wide array of styles. They are authorized dealers and offer appropriate warranties so their products are truly not just knockoffs.

Brrrr...Cold.

Chapped lips, sniffles and cough.

The very proofs that indeed, the cold season has started to set in. Except for the sickness, I love the weather actually. I don't miss yet the hot and humid temperature and even though I am longing to have one of those alluring Myrtle beach golf packages, I very much welcome this weather change especially in a tropical country like ours where most of the time of the year has been really very hot. But above this weather, the reason why I'm welcoming this with open arms because it only means Christmas is just around the corner, too. Excited...I'm more than excited actually.

HK Trips

Earlier today, the discussion at Twitter was all about a few friends' trip to Hong Kong come January. I can't help but get envious because I've always wanted to go back and experience HK with the husband and little A this time. However, we cannot even though there have been airfare sales recently because we have some other priorities. We can always save anyway for these trips in the years to come when the little one's older enough to enjoy and who knows it'll not only be HK hotels that we'll book but new orleans hotel rooms. Now that's way cooler and more exciting because stepping in any state of the US is also a lifelong dream.

This Is It!

If schedule permits, we might be able to drop by in our future little mansion's location tomorrow morning and meet our Ninong (the developer). We'll sort out and finalize a few stuffs regarding the financing part. We might also be able to discuss the final design layout specifically the floor plan on the ground floor since ours will slightly be deviated from the other houses' layouts. Well, I leave that task to the husband he's more knowledgeable about those stuffs than me. I will just meddle come designing time..err not actually meddle because I also know less about interior designing but more of giving out suggestions on minor things like the bathroom lighting for example. Can you already sense how excited we are? This is it! The future little mansion is inch by inch becoming a reality.

Don't Underestimate

I have mentioned earlier that we're attending a wedding tomorrow. It's our first time to set foot in that particular venue so I asked a while ago the driver husband if he knows already how to get there. His answer: "I have a gps-like mind so don't you worry and we'll get there". Yeah right, there goes the confidence again. I just hope that we won't get lost on our way and we'll really get there in time.

After Graduation Plans

Our youngest sibling will be graduating from college in less than four months. Finally, my Dad can now truly relax and just enjoy his retiring years after painstakingly working abroad just to send us to good schools. I'm not sure though if my brother will find right away a job or will take a few months of rest. In my opinion, it would be better if he'll try to find a job right away. Seeking a job right now is kinda tough so he should grab all bright chances that he can get. Besides, should he wish to study further, he can enroll himself in online colleges like Capella University while working. Capella is an accredited, fully online university and one of the best online graduate schools for working adults. They offer various graduate degree programs one of which is business and just the perfect masteral course for my brother. He really should check out this school soon and I bet that he'll more likely agree with my suggestion.

Christmas Goodies from Conti's

A former colleague of mine is currently working for Conti's, a pastry shop and restaurant well known for its luscious dishes liked Baked Salmon and cakes like Mango Bravo. Be sure to sign up for austin weight loss programs after gobbling at their resto. She announces in her facebook wall that the Conti's Christmas Goodies are now available: fruit cake, special ham, cakes, pastries, sweets like polvoron, pastillas, mango empanaditas, cashew empanaditas, special breads in boxes and a lot more. These are perfect for all those who have sweet tooth and these also serve as magnificent Christmas gifts to friends and loved ones. But if I were to ask, I'd prefer to receive a whole (not just a single slice) Mango Bravo cake for Christmas and I'm more than contented with that.

Discounted iPhone Accessories

I bet shopaholics in the US are now trying to hit the sack as early as they could to store enough energy in time for the Black Friday Sales shopping in stores a few hours from now. Or perhaps, some of them have already set up tents and are camping out outside their favorite malls so they'd be first in the line. For some most probably, they have already taken advantage the Thanksgiving deals in online shops like Buy.com (their thanksgiving sale is up to 70% off). Do check out their great deals now specifically their iphone accessories. From $39.99, these Maximo iM-390 iMetal™ Isolation Earphones' price is now just $25.79. Great savings, indeed.

Cosmetology School

Tomorrow's the wedding day of a dear friend of mine. I have already prepared the dress and thought of my getup for tomorrow. Unfortunately, I left my iron hair straightener at my folks' place in Makati so I'll just go to a salon after lunch for hair services. I might as well hire help to have my make up done since I'm no expert with it. These are the times when I wish that I can pursue a degree in any cosmetology schools in kansas so I can expertly do all these by myself. I learned from FindABeautySchool through their beauty school directory about the various top notch beauty schools in that area as well in other states. Its services are really convenient for beauty student hopefuls through their comprehensive directory listings searchable either by zip or state.

2010 Travel Plan

As the year comes to an end and we're about to welcome a new year, it's never too early to start planning and writing down our goals/plans for 2010. I could say that our year will be mainly focused building and "beautifying" our little mansion. By the way, just heard another positive news about it last night *wink wink*.

Hubby's offshore work assignment next year is still obscure so we'll focus on among other things like domestic travel plans. I want my son to visit his great grandma in our hometown in Isabela where I know he'll appreciate the green fields, the farm scenery complete with animals and even farm automobiles and cattle supplies, the nearby irrigation to which I'm sure he'll drag us because he'd want to swim. Just by thinking about this trip makes me giddily excited. It's been a while since I visited the grannies so this homecoming will be great.

Out of Whack

PMS-ing.

Yeah..right. That's the major reason why I've been slacking these past few days letting all my online assignments just pile up and end up cramming come deadline time. Not even my favorite past time of window shopping online for clothes and Naot shoes can perk me up. Geez, hormones! Why do they have to get out of whack every now and then?

Professional-Studded.

We just received the wedding invitation from one among our many friends who are getting married before the year ends. Looking at their entourage names, I could say that they are one "professional-studded" cast because mostly are doctors, engineers and architects! Lacking is a representative from the lawyer's group. I wonder too if the group of CPAs is represented.

Speaking of Certified Public Accountants, I've heard one particular Las Vegas accounting firm that my batchmates in college are raving about. A lot of them are wanting to fly to Nevada and be part of KondlerCPA's group of elite accountants who are very well commended for their brilliance in providing accounting services and financial business solutions. Having a vast experience in industries like petroleum distribution, auto dealerships, retail/convenience stores, etc, it's no doubt how many businesses in the area are contracting and commending their services very much.

Brooches as Gift Toppers

I'm feeling a little crafty this afternoon as I am about to gift wrap a present I'll be giving a friend on her birthday soon. Look what I chanced upon on the web while researching for some creative and unique ways of giftwrapping. Using a brooch as a gift topper definitely adds a personality to a gift no matter how small the parcel is. You can also adapt this idea when wrapping wedding or birthday giveaways.

Anniversary Getaway

It's no longer surprising why December and not June is actually the wedding month here in the country. As a December bride myself, I just know how advantageous it is to get wed in the most festive month of the year. This is the month when most relatives and friends from abroad take time to travel and spend the Christmas holidays back home. This means more loved ones and regarded persons won't miss your grand celebration. Two, this is the month when Christmas bonuses are in so there's extra money to splurge on the wedding expenses. Three, it's simply the most festive period and people are in great party mood because of the holiday fever.

However, there could also be disadvantages. One, December is a peak travel month so that means expensive airfare and hotel rates. Two, since a lot gets wed on this month, it also means that this is the month when most anniversaries are celebrated. So this I think has also got to do with disadvantage number 1 since a lot of couples wander away from the city and enjoy an Anniversary Getaway in the most romantic place on earth like the Riviera Maya beaches in Mexico. This coastline is where the Karisma group of hotels and the world of sensuality can be found. They have five signature resorts that include: El Dorado Royale Spa Resort (adults only), El Dorado Seaside Suites (adults only), Azul Beach (family-friendly) and Azul Blue (family-friendly) and Hidden Beach Resort (naturalist)...all highly raved about and commended for their exceptional all inclusive luxury vacation that they offer.

Holiday Feasts Food Gifts and Chef's Tips

So the Holiday is really just around the corner. Aside from gift shopping, the early Christmas preparations a housemaker usually does are learning new recipes for the Holiday Feasts and browsing for a comprehensive colon cleanse review to go with it.

Want to learn new recipes and menus to cook for Noche Buena and Media Noche feasting? Then this culinary demonstration organized by San Miguel Great Food Club and The Podium is a must attend activity.

Breastfeeding

We'll be attending a close friend's wedding by the end of the month. Then the week after, we'll witness another High School friend's wedding. Celebrations such as these will mean get togethers and I'm pretty sure that friends whom I haven't seen in a while will comment how I look skinnier as ever. For the nth time, I'll be asked if I'm taking appetite suppressants or those sorts. I can already picture their startled look when I answer back that I'm still breastfeeding my 20 month old son. It has always been like this...I don't know if they're surprised how breastfeeding can be a great slimming regimen or are they surprised why I breastfeed at such a long time. They perhaps don't believe that breastfeeding is really best for babies until two years and beyond.

Artscow Printing

Printing pictures is one of the things that I've been putting off for so long. With the tons of unprinted pictures stored in our hard drives, I think I need to allot a day off my hectic life just to upload and have them ordered at Artscow. I can't even remember which batch of Asher's pictures were printed last. Speaking of Artscow, I haven't also resumed digiscrapping his first birthday photobook. Yikes! I know, this laziness has to stop before he turns 2 in less than four months.

Disney Holiday Trips.

December is just a few weeks away and as early as now I could already feel that it'll be one busy month. A number of my online friends have already booked their Holiday travels. Almost everyone's heading to Hong Kong and bound to experience Disneyland! Perhaps it'll be Orlando apartments that they are booking if only United States is nearer. After all, the first Disneyland theme park is located there. But nevertheless, a lot still wants to visit the one in Hong Kong since it's relatively nearer, much cheaper and newer.

Health Insurance.

We proved how important it is to have a health insurance last year. Little A and I had quite a number of hospital trips so I can't just imagine how much the hospital bills could have holed our wallets big time if we didn't have a health card. I gave birth, I underwent a cholecystectomy surgery to remove my gall stones then the little one was hospitalized due to bronchial asthma before the year ended. We're really thankful that my husband's employer provides this health benefit to its employees and their dependents. It's just sad that dependents aren't qualified for the maternity benefit just like the Blue Advantage package offers. Nevertheless, we're still lucky because we are covered in case something unfortunate happens to us health wise.

In Search of Breeches

As we always do every year, we joined the field trip of my in-laws' pre-school in Tagaytay. I haven't blogged the whole experience yet because I haven't uploaded our pictures. It's much enjoyable to read if the story is complete with pictures, right? Also, I'm still searching for a cheap pair of breeches that I can let the little one wear as part of his Equestrian/Cowboy getup. We bought him a mini horse battery-operated stuffed toy at Palace in the Sky that he fondly rides lately as he excitedly hears the neighing sound. I'd love to take a picture of him riding that little horse.

Can't Get Enough

And then..there are NINE.

Just one more blog and I can allot exclusively one of my ten fingers to each. My latest online nook is a travel blog where I will chronicle my latest trips and adventures but majority of the contents will be about the coolest travel deals I'll be seeing on the web. So do stand by while I put it up and ready for unveiling.

Addicted enough?

Gold Investment

Generally, the gold, platinum and silver coins that we have on our purses are used as mere purchasing means at their current value to buy commodities. But for some, I'm pertaining to the hobbyists and those who are experts in the investment world, they use these coins as a means to acquire riches and financial security for the for the future. What they do is engage in a buy and sell practice with enormous profits in return. It actually takes a lot of skill, know -ow and persistence for this investment to work. It also needs proper guidance and assistance from the precious metal investment experts like those wise professionals from Monex Deposit Company (MDC). Having been the trusted leader in the industry for nearly 40 years, their gold value (in coins or in bullion forms) are simply the best running rates.

Not Anymore.

I'm pleased to share that I've already recovered from my Facebook game applications addiction. I have blogged about my favorite games that took so much of my time then and reading back, I can't believe that I was so overly hooked to Pet Society, Farm Town, Barn Buddy, Restaurant City, Sushi No Maki, Fish World, Bejewelled Blitz, Waka-waka and a few more before. It was actually the mountain load of online works I had that made me focus and neglected totally those game applications. I guess my main motivation then was that I don't earn from them so might as well give them up. I do miss my characters and pets once in a while and wonder so many things like the new modern sofas and furniture at Pet Society, new trees and new features at Farm Town, new breed of fishes at Fish World and a whole lot more. I refrain from opening any of these games because I'm afraid that I'd get hooked again.

Always Connected To WWW

I have always been an online freak ever since I discovered the internet a few years back. I researched about my projects and assignments over the internet, got fond of emails for connecting with friends, got hooked with online chatting, got dependent in finding our wedding suppliers online for our wedding, developed great interest in digital scrapbooking, the digital kits of which are all downloaded from the internet. And now, I’m so into blogging lately and it has actually been my bread and butter for more than two years now.

Way back, I used to scrimp and depend on very frustratingly slow dial-up connections. I can still recall that I downloaded mp3s for hours and with sites that take about a minute or more before it is fully downloaded. That is why I was so delighted when my Dad subscribed to a broadband internet. Finally, I was able to download a 5 MB song in less than 3 minutes and with web pages loading in just a blink of an eye. Actually, there are a lot of internet providers out there like Qwest high speed Internet offering ultra fast speeds of 1.5, 7, 12 and even 20Mbps - up to 125 times the speed of a 56Kbps dial-up modem. What's even remarkable about them is that they offer quality Qwest phone service apart from the commendable internet service. With these speeds, surfing the net has never been this fast and exciting. The latest big thing that was introduced is the wi-fi (wireless fidelity) technology. Wireless broadband has only been available in hotspots coffee shops, wi-fi cafes and offices before. But now it has also become available for home use at a reasonable price.

As I've mentioned, I never let a day pass without accessing the web and checking my emails. With all of these online activities that I do, I can’t afford to have a very slow or intermittent connection. Luckily, our local DSL provider here in the Philippines very seldom fails me and they are at par with the speed that Qwest provides.

Just a Few Thoughts

If you've been frequenting my home and living blog, you might have noticed that I haven't shared any big improvement or progress about our so-called Mansion project. Well, it is because we haven't completed yet the necessary requirements for the housing loan but the little steps are still on going nevertheless. The husband and I are already discussing a few of the nitty gritty details of the interiors:

- carpet or tile flooring for the living room
- round or square dining table
- zen or rustic type
- blue and brown or blue and green motif for the CR

Honestly, our thoughts may not that be organized yet but it is because we're still taking things and steps at a time. We're not rushing and definitely, we still have lots of time to brainstorm anyway.

Devastated.

We just live near Quezon Avenue where most of the renowned car service centers are located. Every time we pass by along that road, we are often reminded by the wrath of Typhoon Ondoy as we see wrecked and mudded cars queued for repair service. It's heartbreaking to see the damages and I just can feel how the owners of these cars are so devastated with the repair expenses. I just hope that the service centers don't charge much on the car and truck accessories replacement costs. The car owners will greatly appreciate and will be of great help to them as they still try to recover from the tragic effects of the destructive typhoon.

Hong Kong.

Christmas is near and the peak travel month is fastly approaching, too. I have several friends who are flying to Hong Kong with their families on December and January and have started finalizing their trips making sure that their bookings are all set even the non-intrinsic travel details such as the international travel insurance. They say, they have to be protected in case unexpected and unfortunate events happen like sickness or injury, travel delay, baggage loss, or worse.

Their currently finalizing their itineraries and of course, the common denominator in their travel plans? A whole day visit at Hong Kong Disneyland. I'd also want to go their with my family some day. We've been planning to travel there for the longest time however, we have so much priorities to work on first. Perhaps, in a year or two, we'll find ourselves boarding a plane bound to Hong Kong.

A Wedding and MBA News.

Finally I was able to talk to a college friend of mine whom I haven't talked to for ages now. She called to invite me on her wedding which will take place next month. Our phone conversation lasted for more than an hour because we filled up each other with what's happening on us lately. Aside from her wedding, she also told me about their migration plans in the US next year and hopefully, to attend as well school mba while working. I quite didn't get the school name but I think I heard her mentioning Capella. She's perhaps pertaining to the one based in MN. I've read so much about Capella University on the web which is an accredited, fully online university and the leading online graduate school for working adults. Certainly, I can feel her excitement with all these changes because ever since, these have been her goals in life.

This blog post was based on information provided by Blogitive. For more information, please visit Blogitive.com.

Ughh..

My mind's not working at this moment. I have tons of online assignments to work on but it seems that I can't get my thinking caps to function well. I was doing fine earlier but suddenly my mojo just vanished. Perhaps, I have to heed the husband's reminder that it's 12 noon already and it's time to eat lunch. Yeah, that could be it.

Let's Go To Bed.

Play with us HERE! ;)

1. Has a relationship been effected by how one of you slept? Even though he snores loudly, I won't mind sleeping beside him all throughout my life.

2. What side of the bed do you sleep on? Right side.

3. Do you sleep on your back, side, or stomach? On my back usually and sometimes on my side.

4. Describe the bedding on your bed right now. How does it change with the seasons? Are you particular about your pillows or linens? It's a blue and white checkered bedding. We only have two seasons so not much options really. We prefer the cotton ones and those that are snug fit on the mattress.

5. When sleeping with someone, do you hog the bed, steal covers, or snore? I'm basically "behaved" and do not circle the bed when sleeping.

6. What do you wear to bed? If it varies, explain. Comfy ones.

7. No matter how much you love someone, would you rather alone? No.

8. Tell us about a time when you awoke in bed, saw the person next to you and thought, "Oh, no..." --- "did I just marry this guy?" That was the time when I discovered his snoring ways.

9. Tell us about a time when you awoke thinking it was a different day than it was. It happens to me frequently. Haha!

Beauty Talks.

I envy those girls who are so knowledgeable and creative about makeup application. To start with, I'm just a simple lady who's contented with a very light and natural looking makeup. I lack the know-how on the best brands, the most effective techniques, the latest trends, etc. I surely do have a few stash in my makeup kit but honestly, they are not "optimized". This got me thinking of attending a workshop or even enroll in a beauty school indianapolis just so to further my very limited knowledge. Well, I know I may just be confined in the house with my SAHM stint but it doesn't mean that I don't have the right to feel good about myself through makeups right?

Evian Babies

This video has been one of the most watched at Youtube in the past months. Meant to be shown on TV, this video clip about Evian Mineral Water's advertisement features computer-generated babies doing daredevil leaps, flips and somersaults is simply brilliant and outrageous. Don't you find the babies cute and impressive, too?

Facebook Addicted...

..not anymore!

I think my Facebook addiction has gone and now I'm completely rehabilitated. Well, I do occasionally log in there once in a while but five minutes stay of browsing friends' feeds is the longest.

I do not play anymore the games I used to play. My Restaurant City, Pet Society, Friends For Sale, Waka-waka, Word Mania, Rollercoaster Kingdom, World Fish, Farmtown and Barn Buddy accounts are all stagnant. It's been ages since I last checked my characters in there.

I do not also update my feed that much.

I also rarely comment on my friends' status.

It's not that I do not like Facebook anymore..my hands are just full of online works that I can't find time to log in there.

Investing in Gold.

For most of us, gold, silver and platinum coins are just used as mere purchasing means at their current value. But do many of us know that we can actually convert them into a sound and even more promising investment in the future? You may ask, how. Well this is just an illustration. Keep whatever coins you may have now. If possible, try to collect even that of other currencies especially the rare ones or most sought after like the gold american eagle coins. Store them in a safe place like a vault or a safety box in banks and after some time, let's say about 20 years from now, take them out and you'd be surprised how much their values can sum up to. They're hundred or could even be thousand times valued than on the year it's been minted.

But of course, you need not wait that long should you consider investing in gold or in other precious metals now. The world financial status may appear bleak but actually, experts say that this is the right time and investors buy gold as a safe haven against any world crisis may it be economic, political, social or currency-based conflicts like investment market declines, currency failure, inflation, etc. Gold is the safest investment because it never devaluates over time.

The world of gold and other precious metals investment is really promising.

Lost Two Pounds Due to Ondoy

The aftermath of typhoon Ondoy brings so much stories of heartbreaking ordeals. I've got a number of friends who weren't spared by the massive flooding and I couldn't just imagine how they were able to deal with it with so much composure. Seeing pictures on their Facebook accounts of chest-deep flood waters, totally submerged cars, floating furniture, piled up vehicles, and pictures of them stranded on their roof - it's totally heartbreaking. They're now coping fine. One of them said though that she lost a couple of pounds because of this tragedy. The stress, she says, served as her effective weight loss pills. It may be a little delight on her part because for the longest time she's been trying to trim down her weight. Somehow there's something good that typhoon Ondoy caused to her.

No Matter...

...how hard I try to divert my thoughts, I can't help but write just about this tremendous catastrophe. Watching the news since Saturday has been heartbreaking and perhaps that's one of the reasons why I can't think of any other things to blog but this. I am deeply disturbed and saddened especially seeing the kids suffering, traumatized and now even getting sick in the evacuation centers. They have put up remote medical centers near the greatly affected areas and it's sad to see that they don't have much medical equipment with them. Instead of a medical bunk or hospital beds or an exam table, sadly, they just lay down a collapsed person in a table. What's overwhelming though is that several medical personnel have volunteered for this cause.

Be Prepared.

With the massive destruction that the heavy floods caused this weekend, I can just picture how the insurance companies will have to work double time now especially those in the departments of house and car insurance. I heard in the news today that the Insurance Commission is requesting the companies to be less strict with the claims processing.

Since nothing is certain in life and with such tragedies, I think this is the perfect time for those who don't have still life insurance to check life insurance rates now. No one knows and everyone's uncertain what will happen next so the best defense we can just have is to be prepared for the worst.

A Sweet Business

One local star who's sweetly named is actually genius for her concept to set up a candy vending machine business. Truly, it was a hit since her own name does the marketing magic by itself. But apart from the name, vending machine business is truly promising because it's 100% cash business. No credit or whatsover and even though the goods are just coins worth, the return of investment is just short. No manpower cost, office rent and other expenses that eats the large part of an enterprise's liabilities. Should you be interested in venturing into such kind of business, check out the latest vending machines from Vendstar, the world’s largest bulk vending machine company.

Disappointing.

A lazy, raining but humid Sunday afternoon is what we have here now. Have tons of work to toil over the weekend but here I am, just not so in the mood to rush them up. Perhaps it's the UST-ADMU game that's dampening my spirits further. It's a do or die game for my beloved UST team to keep their season hopes alive but every basketball minute that passes by, they're just collapsing and where they are now? They have 22-point deficit and with just 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter, they're just 120 seconds away from bidding goodbye to their Finals chance. Of course, it's no longer mathematically possible. Unless, we suddenly change the basketball rules and impose that a shot will be worth 5 points. But I don't think James Naismith will be happy about that.

Totally disappointing. But then again..there will always be next season.

It's M.A.G.I.C.

My UAAP team, UST, just lost in the UAAP semis..and I'm totally disappointed. If there's one thing that I'm thankful for this afternoon is my appetizing Spicy Hotdog Sandwich from 7-11 plus half of Asher's Tuna Sandwich leftover. Big appetite huh? Who would've thought that this tiny physique has an enormous appetite as a horse. I have a secret to spill. Nope, I'm not using the best fat burners nor I'm not undergoing rigorous slimming exercise. Simply, it's what you call... M.A.G.I.C. :)

Sharing the Good News Through Photo Birth Announcements

Photo Birth AnnouncementAren't all newborn babies adorable? More and more new parents nowadays are opting to have Photo Birth Announcements because they can't wait to show the whole world how cute their little angel is through her first photo. Nothing beats the excitement they feel. I just know because that's how I felt, too, when I gave birth to my son last year and uploaded photo birth announcements on the web.

Although, mostly turn to sharing birth announcement cards online these days with the advent of the internet and technology, a lot still prefers to do it the traditional way. That is sending baby birth announcements cards via airmail or "handmail". However they are sent, the warmth of receiving such good news is the same especially when you are handed lovely and elegant baby designs.

Birth-cards at http://www.birth-cards.com/ is a very nice resource to shop around for customized birth announcement cards. They create special layouts to suit the new parents' preference on the theme, color and design. Not only do they have a wide selection of themes to choose from and they provide a draft fast but they also tweak the layout according to your revision request such as on the wordings, font color and styles, etc. Through their Instant Preview engine, you can view your birth announcement card before finalizing your order that is just perfect to help you share the good news.

From Counterstrike to Airsoft.

When we were still childless, I remember that dear hubby used to be fascinated with playing Counterstrike on the PC. It is a Massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) game that involves a tactical war between terrorist and counter terrorist groups. It is from this game that he got accustomed and familiar with different tactical equipments: from different pistols to machine guns and ammos to equipment such as vests, diffusing kit and others. Actually, when we were browsing ZephyrAirsoft.com's (an online shop that retails a complete line of airsoft guns from spring pistols to high end machine guns) gallery, he can smartly identify the different types of airsoft guns and the other tactical weapons. He's wanting to put his shooting skills in real life that's why he's considering the game of airsoft to try.

Saturday 9.

1. If everyone liked each other, what would we complain about? Absolutely, nothing.

2. If you were most powerful person in the world, how would you use that power? I'll remove all corrupt officials and provide food in every plates especially those of the impoverished ones.

3. If had exactly one year to live, what are the three things you'd want to do before you died? Spend each remaining days with my family, pray and pray.

4. If you could change one thing about the world, what would that one thing be? Poverty.

5. If you could take one thing back, what would that one thing be? Envy.

6. If you were stuck on an island forever but had all the water, food and shelter you needed. What would be the three other things you'd bring with you? Cellphone, laptop and a boat.

7. If the internet didn't exist, would the quality of life go up or down? More likely, go down.

8. If a million dollars fell off a back of a truck, would you keep it? No.

9. What is something you said, something you stole, something you did wrong?
When I said that I'm not beautiful (I stole my own self-confidence). LOL. But seriously, we should believe that we are all beautiful in our own ways.

Friday 5 for September 11: Bottles

FRIDAY 5
1. When did you last drink something out of a glass bottle?
* Just yesterday. I drank coke straight from the bottle.

2. Whose energy would you like to bottle for those future listless days?
* No doubt. It has to be my 18 month old son. He's so robust that I'm having a hard time catching up with his energy.

3. How many plastic bottles are there in your shower, and what’s in them?
* There are 3. Two different brands of shampoo and a conditioner.

4. Who in your life could be described as lightning in a bottle?
* My son again. I am amazed how he he's so smart at such a young age. We're always surprised of his new antics..antics that are self-discovered.

5. You’re playing Spin-the-Bottle with your sixth-grade classmates. When it’s your turn, to whom do you want the bottle pointing?
* No one. Perhaps, still to myself..if the game allows. LOL.

Athletic and Sports-Minded

When I was younger, I was athletic and more sports-minded compared to now that I've aged (a little). I was our grade school class' volleyball team captain and even aced 3 out of 4 PE subjects in college with a perfect score of "1". Volleyball and table tennis were my forte then. I also loved watching live games on TV like UAAP basketball, the Olympics telecast of various sports, wrestling, soccer and sometimes the NFL. However, I know little about the game of football that I need to ask the husband while watching how is it scored or why do the referee gave that call and all those sort of questions.

Speaking of football, I found a fan site for the Florida football pride, Dolphins. The MiamiDolphinsTicket.com was built by and built for the Miami Dolphins fans where they can get the latest news and information about their idols and most of all, shop for Miami Dolphins Tickets to all the Dolphins' games. It is also the ultimate resource of the players' stats and yes, it's also a place where fans can chat and share their passion for their favorite Dolphins player.

What Does Your Birth Date Mean?

I took the "What Does Your Birth Date Mean?" quiz on facebook and this is what I got.

Born on the 12th

You are a wise person known for your humility. You are dedicated and sincere in your studies/work. You are an emotional lover. You tend to get possessive in your relationships. Otherwise, you are an easy-going and friendly person. You love to dress well. You are realistic in the game of life.

And I say: All statements are true except for the line "You love to dress well". Hmm, it's not that I have a "manang" style..it's just that I'm comfortable and I feel best with the pieces of clothes that I have in my closet. Besides, going out clad in a pair of jeans and a plain tee or blouse is not naman nagpapakamanang, right?

On Motherhood and Baby Showers.

Free Printable Baby InvitationsEver since I became a Mom, I more of appreciated receiving Baby Invitations over late night birthday party invites. I guess this is what the phrase "Motherhood is a perspective-changing experience" means. I lost interest in booze-drinking sessions, videoke nights until the wee hours of the morning and other activities that single or childless individual do. Instead, I look forward to attending and even organizing a baby shower for pregnant friends.

Speaking of baby shower planning, a big thanks to Cards-411 at http://www.cards-411.com/ (the card for all occasions specialist) because ordering baby shower invitations has never been as easy as this. They have a wide selection of unique and creative invitation baby cards to choose from, an advanced and user-friendly Instant Preview feature where you can view the draft before hitting the BUY button, offers unlimited revision for free and what's great is that they even ship for free and give 10 Free Cards Thank You. They can also print and ship the same day that you order the cards.

Family Vacation at Azul Sensatori.

Just three months to go and it's my most awaited month of the year again. Christmas is definitely the most wonderful time for me because it means non-stop merriment, exchange gifts, parties, food feasts and of course, it means grand vacation time. As early as now, the husband has filed his vacation leave for December and I have started as well browsing sites offering Family Vacations and other good travel deals.

I have come up with a number of good options and should we be able to save much (or win the lotto jackpot tonight), I would right away book a getaway to the most divine and alluring Azul Sensatori Hotel in Riviera Maya. It is one of the family-friendly resorts of Karisma Hotels that cater the needs of parents to make sure that their kids (and babies) have fun and take a take a vacation in style, too. One, they have spacious and cozy family-oriented suites. For toddlers and babies, they have Baby Equipment and Toy Loan Services through which they provide a monitor, stroller, bottle warmer, baby bathtub, Gourmet Gerber baby food, Fisher-Price® toys and much more delivered to the suites upon request. For ages 6 months to 12 yrs old, they have this so-called Azulitos Kid’s Club where they can hang out and play at the My Gym, splash water park and playground. For teens, they have the Breeze Teen Club where ages 13 to 17 hangout and play interactive games like Wii, CD mixing classes, beach volleyball tournaments and tennis clinics. With all these kid-friendly amenities, it not surprising if the kids will request for vacation extension because this truly is a vacation haven.

"We're Having a Boy!" Pregnancy Announcement Cards.

Pregnancy Announcement IdeasThis Pregnancy Announcement Card reminded me of the baby gender guessing game I held in this blog two years ago when we found out Baby A's gender at 18th week (I think) of pregnancy. I really had fun reading those guesses. Most of them have gotten it right, perhaps, I gave away easy clues and hints leading to the correct answer. Revealing the baby gender is as exciting as pregnancy announcements. Although, it doesn't matter really whether it'll be a baby girl or a baby boy because after all, what you hope and pray for is a healthy baby. However, pregnancy announcement cards such as this will help friends and family members to have an idea what to get for the baby shower. Should it be blue-themed or pink-themed?

If you've just confirmed that you're pregnant and want to make a surprise pregnancy announcement, check out the unique and creative announcement cards at Birth-Cards. They can even customize and create a special design just for you let's say you want to include a 3D ultrasound image of your baby. If you can't contain your excitement to share the good news, don't worry because http://www.birth-cards.com/ work on your layout fast. In fact, you can preview the initial draft within an hour during the business day. They also print and ship your cards the same day that you order them. They perfectly understand how fast you'd want to share the good news.

Barn Buddy Closed For Now.

Barn Buddy

I really wish that Facebook stops introducing new games for now. The more games they come up with, the more Facebook users procrastinate. But then again, this certainly is a wishful thinking because Facebook has really been storming the internet world. Friendster doesn't exist to most of us as we find Facebook the better social networking site with all its features.

The image above is the game Barn Buddy. I've been quite addicted to it for a month but starting last week, I started my rehabilitation with the downpour of online works coming my way. I won't be able to concentrate if I there are side thoughts about my harvest getting stolen. Check out my open Firefox tabs, I got a handful right? So there, have to adjust my online life for now. To all my Barn Buddy friends, sorry if you can't get anything from my farm. Haha!

Of Birth Announcements.

Photo Birth AnnouncementsI remember my husband feeling ecstatic and restless outside the Delivery Room while I savored the first moments of being a Mom as soon as I heard my son's first cry. I felt nostalgic how time went by fast. It wasn't that long ago when we first learned about the pregnancy, then my friends distributed baby shower invitations (similar to the image on the left) and the next thing I knew, we'd be making birth announcements. Nothing really beats the joy experienced by new parents as they proudly make baby announcements.

Gift For the Elderly.

The older a person gets, the harder it is to think of things to gift on special occasions especially for the elderly ones. Electronics gadgets are just next to impossible because their mental capacity might not cope up anymore with the technology. Aside from the fact that their poor vision could not decipher the electronic displays. So I think the best things to gift are those that they can aid in making their day to day lives easier. Like a hearing aid, a new pair of eyeglasses, a wheelchair, a shower chair and a lot more. For more home health care supplies for the elderlies, several can be browsed at Allegro Medical - the online leading source for medical equipment and supplies today.

Back To Farming.

Look who has just returned to her farm. Yes, that's my farmer Misha at her very own Hacienda. It's been months since I got addicted with this Facebook game called Farm Town and have neglected the farm for so long. Way back then, I have only few neighbors, meaning not much weren't playing yet. But with all the Farm Town gift and neighbor requests and status updates and notifications from friends, I was lured to open last week my account. Lo and behold, I was surprised to see that most of my friends are Farm Town fanatics now and their levels are even way advanced than mine already. Truly addicted! Now, I'm finding myself getting hooked again. From level 17 last week, I'm now up at level 26. The picture above was taken when I got back and since I've progressed in the past days, I was able to expand my farm to the biggest lot size possible. Now I'm inching my way to the ultimate level 34 when I would be able to buy a mansion.
On another note, I've promised to lay low as I've got of online works up in my sleeves. Have to prioritize first the things that MUST be done or else, we won't be able to buy our ultimate dream of mansion in the offline world.

Nuninuninuninuni.

A dear online friend of mine and I were chatting earlier this afternoon and for a moment our thoughts pondered this question:

"So will it ALWAYS be JUST a thank you?"

I won't elaborate on this one because we don't want to wallow on negativity in a day that is supposedly a blessed one. Thanks to the husband who amused us with his funny yet a bit "malaman" comment...

"Hey, malapit na ang National Heroes Day. Ipagpapatayo ko na rin kayo ng mga rebulto niyo.."

'Nuff said.

Willing To Try Acai Berries?

Try to google the keywords "Acai Berry Energy Supplement" or even just the term "acai berry" and you will notice that the names of Oprah Winfrey and Rachael Ray are boldly connected among a few search results. Although filed court cases are the topics linked with it (because these hosts deny that they endorsed or testified about certain acai berry diets on their shows) people can't still help but get intrigued why this acai berry is so called a wonder fruit. I tried to research about this and here are a few notes I got.

Acai (pronounced ah-sah-ee) berries are a newly discovered type of berry from the Amazon jungle that has some amazing characteristics. The marketers of this product claims that it provides increased energy levels, improved digestion and detoxification, thus, it makes a great dietary supplement for losing weight.

So would you be willing to give this fruit anti-oxidant a try?

His Sticker Album.

His sticker album

Or should I term this a "sticker leg"? This is one of Asher's recent mischief. He toyed with his animal stickers and managed to take them one by one and stuck to his leg. He wasn't contented or perhaps, there was no more space on his leg that's why he stuck some on my hand, too. Kulit noh?
