Mai's Blog Advisory

You might have noticed that I no longer update my blog on a daily basis (and I'm so sorry for that). Well, for one, I'm really into reviewing for my civil service exams and two, I'm running out of sensible posts to share or is it just the sloth in me that's ruling over my mind?? :lolz:

Thanks for those who constantly STILL visit my blog and take time to comment or tag at least. They're really my simple pleasures and just reading your names tagging and commenting do really brings a smile on my face and makes my day complete. Naks! Babaw noh? Well, that's how I am really. Don't worry..will log in right away naman as soon as I have a sensible post to share. Basta for now, sensya na kung every other day ang entries..

Uh-oh..will this make me less of a blogwhore? hehe!

distance and longing

If there's one thing I wish to change about the world...I'll make it a smaller one where the words "distance" or to be more specific "miles" would never be known to Mr. Webster.

Of course this sentiment has got to do with just my sentimental self again.

Melancholy and wistful sentiments cluttered my thoughts last night before I slumbered the night away. Ate informed me that Mumi (taken from the word "mommy" and is our pet name to our maternal grandma was confined in the hospital for dizziness due to inadequate hemoglobin in the blood. She's doing better but just the same we can't help but worry on our 80-yr old lola. Albeit aged, she's still active and can move around doing the usual household activities with her senile weakness limited only to frequent complaints of joint pains and poor visibility. Mentally and physically wise, she's still an energetic lola. She can even manage to travel by herself on a bus from Isabela to Manila, notwithstanding the 9 long hours tiring trip. Sometimes, she can still be so adventurous to brave dangersome Quiapo by herself after which she gets "scolded" and reminded by my sister when she gets home. Well everyone knows how such places are infested with evil elements and innocent and trusting rural dwellers from the province are the usual victims.

She's the only grand folk we've got as the other 3 (paternal grandparents and maternal lolo) have long passed away. I just hope that she's feeling and doing better this time. We just simply want the best for her. I don't want to entertain some thoughts...basta...just all the best for her.

If Isabela was not placed on the northern part and was just situated right beside Quezon City, I would have rushed to my ailing Lola last night. Yeah..distance.

As they say, one is vulnerable to deeper depression when you get frustrated over some things you wish to do but you just can not...not that you don't want but there's just simply no way for it to be done.

Distance and miles and miles apart...these same words that describe Saudi and the Philippines, Qatar and the Philippines, Isabela and Manila, Makati and Quezon City, Makati and Pasig City. Whew! Who are to be connected with these places?
My dad and stepmom - Saudi
Mumi, Mama, Mac (stepbro) and Uncle - Isabela
Ate Maila (eldest sister) - Qatar
Ate Tetet (elder sister) - Pasig
Rely (youngest bro) - Makati
Me & hubby - dwells in Makati & QC alternately scheduled on weekdays

Sad truly, but that's how it is. We are fragmented. Our family is geographically detached. While it is nobody's choice, everyone of us have our own reasons, own goals for us to live up with. It never was easy and I'm sure our abode in Makati surely feels the emptiness as that each and everyone of us feels.

As previously blogged on my father's day post, for almost two decades, I've been living my life in a broken family. My growing up years consisted of us, my sisters, my brother and stepmom trying to complete each other's emptiness as our dad has spent most of his time abroad. Surely, we did complete each other but then still, there's this fact that we are not complete because of one's physical absence. No matter how I psyched myself that dad has a purpose for working abroad and it is for everyone's good, no matter how I condition my thoughts that it is for everyone's benefit that my mom has to live in the province, no matter how I try to accept the fact that my eldest sister has her own married life to attend to in Qatar, no matter how I console myself that my other ate has also some business career to look after to in Pasig, no matter how I try to get adjusted fully to my married life and thus with the reason of my leaving our beloved abode in Makati..still, can't help it, the longing for parental touch and family care has always been there. Wala namang anak at kapatid na naghangad mawalay sa kanyang mga magulang at pamilya, di ba? and same goes..the other way around.

I just miss my family so much. How I wish I can bridge all the distances that keeping us apart. How I wish to rewind time and bring back my wedding day where we were all complete. If there's one wedding gift I'm truly grateful was that, differences and pride were set aside between my folks...and thus with this:

I wish that day never ended. It was the first time ever in my life to experience that..and I was extremely overjoyed! Yes, it was the first time ever and I hope it won't be the last.

Will it be a "she" or "he"?

I remember Paul and I were arguing then what should the sex be of our firstborn. Gusto ko was a baby girl while siya gusto niya baby boy. Back in our Biology class, my understanding of how the gender is formed was limited only on the X & Y chromosomes activities. I didn't know that there are other several scientific factors to consider din that would lead to achieving your desired sex your baby. I stumbled upon these interesting facts from the blog of a fellow pretty CWL sis, Wella, and I just want to share these info to fellow newlyweds, "trying to conceive" wives and to my fellow wawies (soon-to-get-married) sisters. * Ah, yung mga ibang blog neighbors ko diyan, I know di kayo maka-relate pero read on na rin... who knows magamit niyo in the future *

Background: Man's sperm consists of X & Y spermatozoa, X spermatozoon decides the female whereas Y is the male. Referring to these physiological properties of the spermatozoa, gynecologists set up the theory of "Choice of a girl or a boy".

1st factor: Food
If you want a baby girl: Husband must eat more alkaline food, wife eats more acidic food.
If you want a baby boy: Husband eats more acidic food, wife eats more alkaline food.
Alkaline food: vegetables, fruits, egg white, milk, algae, etc.
Acidic food: meat, seafood, etc.

2nd factor: Timing (When to do it ?)
If you want a baby girl: Frequent copulation during pre-ovulation period.
If you want a baby boy: Copulating just before ovulation or just after ovulation.
How to confirm ovulation period: Body temperature increases (you may want to use SPC chart to monitor your body temperature here).

3rd factor: Penetration (How to do it ?)
If you want a baby girl: Husband to avoid deep penetration in the female vagina during copulation.
If you want a baby boy: Deep penetration by the husband is suggested.
Reasoning:Characteristics of X & Y spermatozoa
X: Marathon runner with good stamina
Y: Sprinter but poor stamina
So, with deep penetration, the chances for Y to reach destination will be higher.

4th factor: Stimulation
If you want a baby girl: Wife should avoid stimulation during copulation. Secretion from female vagina becomes alkaline when stimulated, therefore this promotes the activity of Y spermatozoon.
If you want a baby boy: Husband ejaculates after wife has been stimulated.

5th factor: Wife's Preparation
If you want a baby girl: Rinse the vagina with solution dissolving 2 spoonfuls of white vinegar in 1 liter of water. Since an acidic condition decreases activity of Y spermatozoon.
If you want a baby boy: Rinse the vagina with solution dissolving 2 spoonfuls of soda in 1 liter of water.

6th factor: Positioning
If you want a baby girl: Female to be on the top position & male to be on the bottom position.
If you want a baby boy: Male to be on the top position & female to be on the bottom position. This posture allows the Y spermatozoon to reach the destination faster.

The wisdom of our (?) ancestors! For those planning to have a baby & those who will need to plan in future, the chart below may help you to predict the sex of your future child. The accuracy of the chart has been proved by thousands of People and is believed to be 99 percent accurate. Believe it or not.

WOMAN'S CONCEIVING AGE
calendar2

EXPLANATION:
You can choose for yourself whether you want a boy or a girl by following the chart. The woman's age from 18 to 45 (Chinese reckoning) is on the top line while the months Jan to Dec indicate the month when the baby is conceived. By following the chart you will be able to tell in advance whether your baby will be a boy or a girl. Thus, you can plan to have a boy or a girl.

This chart has been taken from a Royal tomb near Peking, China. The original copy is kept in the institute of Science of Peking. The accuracy of the chart has been proved by thousands of People and is believed to be 99 percent accurate. By reckoning, you follow a line drawn from the figure representing the woman’s age to a line drawn from the month the baby is conceived.

For instance, if the woman is 27 years old and her baby is conceived in Month 1 (according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar), then her baby will be a girl. The chart is based on the month the baby is conceived and not on the birth of the baby, B-Male, G-Female.

Remarks: A Chinese Scientist discovered and drew this chart which was buried in a Royal tomb about 700 years ago.

On second thoughts, I suddenly realized, it doesn't matter whether it'll be a "she" or "he" for our firstborn. Paul and I agreed na ang importante is that healthy ang baby....tama di ba?

And for now, still, our fervent prayers na sana the "right time" is soon.. :sigh:

Superheroes

Naahhh! This is not another Pacquiao's triumph blog entry...I got to spare you people. I'm sure a lot of you have read blogs and heard enough of it yesterday as most of you would've even probably glued their eyes on their 12-round bout. As soon as I learned that Pacquiao won over Larios with a unanimous decision before the last undercard match ended, the thrill and excitement subsided kaya ayun...I just waited until Bituin Escalante sang the national athem (which reminded me of Jennifer Bautista's vocal acrobatics when she sang the anthem on Pacquiao-Morales rematch early this year) and watched the ever-sikat Michael Buffer did his thing..."Let's get ready to rumble..". Yun lang...I didn't even see the first round of the fight.. I turned on the pc and just bloghopped away while my hubby slept the whole afternoon. Hehe! Don't get me wrong..of course, I'm one proud pinoy fan but i don't know, wasn't as thrilled as he fights the other boxers abroad. Isa pa, para kasing "no match" eh. hehe!

This is neither a Superman-struck entry as I haven't seen the flick yet. I'm just going with the flow as I've stumbled a dozen of raves and reviews from blog friends which makes me wanna go see it myself. Hmm..it just hit me, I'm having all the time these past few months and yet it seems ages since I last saw a movie on the big tube (umaasa kasi sa mga "de-be-de, de-be-de kayo diyan"). Ah hello? Are they still showing The Lakehouse, MI3, Tokyo Drift? Waaahhh!

Speaking of superheroes, I almost did call on a super creature this morning when I got stuck with the ever-bulok registration/application process for my Civil Service Examination. Today's the first day of the registration for the Computer-Assisted Tests to be conducted starting August 1 and it took me the whole morning to finish my application. I arrived in CSC-Batasan at 7:30 AM and there were already about more than 50 applicants qeueing up. Masaya pa man din ako kasi akala ko ako na pinakamaaga...yan pala, ang dami ng naghihintay before me. It's not naman the number of applicants that pissed me off as expected and given naman yun..maraming hopefuls talaga and like to work for the goverment but it's the application system that sucked. Out of hundreds (or even a thousand perhaps) of applicants that stormed their office today, there were only about 3 of them verifying the applications and attending to queries and about 4 of them processing payments. I pity the encoders and attendants for undergoing such a tiring manual work but it's us, the applicants, who were more pathetic while waiting. A lot has gone irate and were already furious while I just sat quietly, waited for my name to be called and amused myself with my phone's Super Real Tennis. Oh yeah, I easily get impatient and was even cursing the process on my text to hubby but didn't join the wrathful group of applicants as I don't want to ruin my monday morning.

After 3 1/2 hours, I luckily finished my registration leaving still hundreds of applicants behind and headed home. My test schedule is on August 3 and I only got exactly one month left to prepare. I better hit those reviewers more often na talaga. With 80% as the passing score, wish ko lang sana talaga pumasa ako. :D

Kadramahan

Haha! oo alam kong marami kang blurkers kasi meron tayong sites referring to this page code at nakikita natin kung sinu-sino dumadaan.

Kaibigan ko ang niloko niya and I just feel bad of him having the guts to hurt a friend like that. Di naman kami close eh and I don't want to hear his side. :evil laugh:

I feel sad for my friend kasi alam kong she's still hurting and is struggling to move on. She still loves him inspite of the hurt and pain this guy caused her. Well ganun talaga, maraming natatanga sa pag-ibig.

My friend acknowledges her shortcomings as for sure, it would always takes two to tango in a relationship. Nakakainis lang..the guy doesn't have the balls to somehow admit his mistakes and instead puts solely the blame on my friend. Sabi niya nasasakal na siya kaya he wants some space to cool off and for him to compose himself. The relationship was indeed complicated..they were seeing each other, talking about the problem but still, the guy is confused pa rin daw. A month later, you would see this guy's friendster profile updated with a new girl's pictures alongside with my friend's pics, his status erratically changing from single to in a relationship to it's complicated. Oh well, he seemed so confused nga. It was just last week he admitted to my friend he has a new girl after a month they broke up.

My friend really was hurt and felt betrayed for the second time. It's just as bad as the first when he had a brief affair with an officemate prompting my friend to be less trusting of him which appeared to the guy.."pananakal".

I just can't believe na may nag-eexist ng mga ganyang guys. They cheat their girls, minsan dumped them tapos blame them kaya sila nagche-cheat? I-ju-justify pa nila kamalian nila. Hay sana lang they should know that a problem will never be a solution to another problem. If you hate what your girls are doing to you or if you find yourself falling out of love, it doesn't hurt and it won't make you less of a man to tell your girls how you really feel. Hindi yung kikimkimin lang tapos sa ibang outlet ilalabas ang sama ng loob and there goes the problem...problem pa rin.

Oh well, ganyan talaga ang buhay...

care to argue with my thoughts? sige mag-comment na. :D
