Phone For Less.

I have a US-based friend who was raving lately about her so-called VOIP phone serviced by Vonage. Curious of what it is like and what difference it has with that of a regular phone line, I searched the web and found this: Vonage VOIP Forum site where informative and helpful news, reviews and discussions about Vonage VOIP phone service are elaborated and talked about.

For the benefit of those who are clueless about VOIP phones, it is simply defined as a means or tool for making telephone calls over the internet. But as Vonage tags it, it’s a “better way to phone for less”.

Through the forum, I’ve learned the following advantages of Vonage VOIP phone service:
1. cheaper rates compared to land line service providers especially for long distance calls (For as low as 1 cent per minute for international calls and even unlimited long distance calls to anywhere in US, Canada and some part of Europe)
2. area code selection and call forwarding/transfer– example: you can have your Toronto VOIP local number routed to your Vancouver local number.
3. added features at no extra cost such as voicemail, 3-way calling, call waiting, call forwarding, 911 dialing, caller id, etc.

No wonder my friend went gaga over this thing. Should you need more information, go ahead and scour the various site sections of Vonage VOIP Forum for FAQs, Reviews, News, Press Releases, Sign Up Info and many more. All you need to know is in there. If you have questions and would like to post on the forum, you will need to take a minute and register. Further, you might want also to take advantage of Vonage’s Sign Up Promotion where a FREE month of service and a free adapter await you.
